IG Port’s Wit Studio produced the third season of the Attack on Titan anime television series, which was directed by Masashi Koizuka and chief directed by Tetsur Araki, with Yasuko Kobayashi handling series composition and Kyji Asano supplying character designs. It includes the arcs “Uprising” (chapters 51–70) and “Return to Shiganshina” (chapters 71–90) from Hajime Isayama’s original manga. The first 12 episodes of the season aired on NHK General TV from July 23 to October 15, 2018, before going on hiatus until April 29, 2019. On August 18, 2018, Adult Swim began airing Funimation’s English adaptation .
The season follows Eren and his fellow Survey Corps soldiers as they continue to fight the fearsome Titans for their lives. Threats come not only from the Titans beyond the walls, but also from the humans who live within them. All appears to be well for the soldiers after their rescue from the Colossal and Armored Titans, until the government requests Eren and Historia’s custody. Levi and his new group must elude their pursuers in order to keep Eren and Historia safe from the government. The Survey Corps, lead by Erwin, embarks on a mission to reclaim Wall Maria in the second part of the season, returning to the tattered Shiganshina District, which was formerly Eren’s home.
