Buggy Live Action Twixtor

Buggy the Star Clown, who was once an apprentice of the Roger Pirates along with Shanks, is now the captain of the Buggy Pirates and co-leader of the Buggy and Alvida Alliance. He became a member of the Seven Warlords of the Sea after the Summit War of Marineford and later formed the pirate dispatch organization “Buggy’s Delivery”. However, he lost his Warlord title when the system was abolished, but was then recognized as one of the Four Emperors after Kaidou and Big Mom were defeated and the Cross Guild was created, with Buggy as its leader. Despite being the main antagonist of the Orange Town Arc and a secondary antagonist in the Loguetown Arc, Buggy has become a highly recurring character in the series. He also temporarily became one of Luffy’s main allies during the Impel Down and Marineford Arcs. Additionally, Buggy is the main antagonist in most episodes of “Boss Luffy Historical Special” and serves as a helper to Luffy in the 3D 2Y special episode and the movie One Piece: Stampede.

Buggy is a slender man with blue hair who bears a striking resemblance to a clown, which is fitting given his nickname. Surprisingly, the big red nose on his face is actually his real nose. Buggy always has his face covered in makeup, just like a clown, and the designs change over time. In his initial appearance, he had crossbones forming an X on his face, along with blue lines near his eyes, red lipstick, and his jolly roger on his hat. However, his appearance changes after the Loguetown Arc. He gains a green star on his forehead, half circles beneath his eyes, and a straight line on his chin. Later on, he has two green dots on each side of his head and four big green dots on the rim of his hat. He also wears green eyeliner and lipstick, with curvy lines going down both sides of his face. In the Impel Down saga, he once again has crossbones going down his forehead to below his eyes, along with pink lines pointing up and red lipstick.

As the captain of a pirate crew, Buggy wears a white and red striped shirt with short sleeves, white clown-like gloves, a sash around his waist, loose pants that reach just above his calves, striped socks, and pointy shoes. He also wears a scarf around his neck and an orange fur-lined captain’s coat hanging from his shoulders. On his head, he sports an orange hat with his jolly roger on it, along with a neckerchief matching the pattern of his shirt. In the manga, his scarf and sash are orange like other parts of his outfit, while his pants are light brown and the epaulets of his coat are gold. However, in the anime adaptation, his color scheme is much brighter with a purple scarf, green sash, light green pants, and green epaulets.

During his time in Impel Down, Buggy wears a striped prisoner outfit and ties his hair into a ponytail. After escaping from the Grand Prison, he changes into clothes similar to his usual attire but incorporates salvaged Marine uniform pieces to give himself the appearance of a pirate captain. This includes a white coat and a white tricorn hat with the Marine symbols crossed out.

When Buggy was a young man serving on Gol D. Roger’s ship, he looked mostly the same as he does now, with the exception of shorter hair and a smaller stature. In flashbacks, he is seen wearing various outfits but generally dressed similarly to his current style, often seen in striped T-shirts or collared shirts, white gloves, baggy pants, pointed shoes, and a sash. Instead of a captain’s hat, he wore beanies and did not have a captain’s coat.

It was revealed in an SBS Volume 4 question that the blue tassels hanging from the sides of Buggy’s hat are actually his hair styled into two ponytails. While imprisoned in Impel Down, Buggy ties his long hair into a single ponytail.

After the timeskip, Buggy undergoes a significant change in appearance. His hair is no longer tied up and appears spikier. He now wears a large red and white striped tricorn hat with golden balls decorating the rim and his crew’s Jolly Roger displayed on the front. He also wears a voluminous red cloak that he uses his Devil Fruit powers to make himself appear larger.
