Eren was a young man who was of normal height and built with muscles. He had a face that was moderately long and rounded with large, expressive gray eyes. His mother’s looks were very similar to his own. His bangs fell in a natural, middle-parted, curtain-like way; his hair was short, black, and had black bangs. He had exceptionally good physical shape and muscle during his time as a soldier, however this was sometimes hidden by his rather loose attire. Eren’s hair reached his neck following the time gap of four years.
Eren was best characterized as being stubborn, strong-willed, passionate, and impetuous, qualities that are indicative of both his tremendous resolve to defend mankind and, later, his equally strong resolve to escape the Walls. His desire to join the Survey Corps began even as a small boy, when he would dispute and yell at his mother, calling the villagers “silly” and compared them to lazy animals.
Eren was extremely protective of his friends and family, even at the expense of his own life. Eren was also capable of acting violently in defense of individuals he did not even know. As a youngster, he confronted bigger boys who tormented Armin Arlert, and, more tragically, he attempted to lift the debris that killed his mother during the Titans’ assault in Shiganshina. He demonstrated this by brutally killing two of the human traffickers who had kidnapped Mikasa Ackerman in an effort to free her.
Since Shiganshina was found, Eren had improved noticeably in both battle and out of it in terms of his analytical and tactical abilities. Aside from finding a way to get his letters to the Survey Corps and keeping his cover as a Marleyan soldier for a while, Eren also correctly identified the cause of Falco Grice’s wounds and the motivation for his desire to succeed Armored Titan. Later, he was able to trick Reiner into falling into a trap, and during his conflict with Lara Tybur, he was able to ascertain the War Hammer Titan’s precise position without any delay.
