The four most prominent and powerful pirate commanders in the world are known as The Four Emperors. Neither of them are their adversaries’ exclusive foes; neither are they often allies. Instead, the four favor maintaining their independence in most situations. Each of these four people resides in the “New World,” which is the second part of the Grand Line, and they have a significant amount of sway and power over several other pirate bands and independent islands. One of The Three Great Powers includes them. The Straw Hat Pirates confront a far greater threat from the Emperors in the second part of the One Piece series than they have from other adversarial people and organizations in the past.
In the pivotal Summit War of Marineford, one of the Four Emperors, Whitebeard was killed at the conclusion of the conflict before Shanks, another emperor, came and brokered a cease-fire. Blackbeard, a former subordinate and murderer, stole his authority the next year.
The World Economy News Paper refers to Monkey D. Luffy as standing next to the Four Emperors as the “Fifth Emperor” of the sea two years later, following the events of the Whole Cake Island Arc. This was a result of both the story’s events and interviews with Cavendish and Bartolomeo, who provided the journalists with information on the 5,640-member Straw Hat Grand Fleet. Next, when Kaidou and Big Mom were defeated at the end of the Raid on Onigashima, Luffy and Buggy were selected as the new Emperors to take their places .
