Luffy Gear 5 Grabs Lightning Twixtor

The Gomu Gomu no Mi, previously known as the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika, grants the user a rubber-like body with increased strength and flexibility, allowing them to fight in any manner they choose. This power has earned the user the title of “Warrior of Liberation,” as they bring joy and freedom to those around them. The fruit’s power has been described as “the most ridiculous power in the world.” In this state, the user’s heartbeat takes on a musical rhythm known as the “Drums of Liberation,” their hair and clothes turn white, and their eyes glow with red ring-like pupils. Clouds float around their neck, similar to the steam clouds that accompany them in Gear 4. Gear 5 transforms the user’s outfit to their usual pants and sandals. As an awakened Zoan, the user gains greater strength, speed, and durability than those without this power. They can even fight and defeat powerful opponents like Kaidou on nearly equal footing. Their physical feats in Gear 5 are almost absurd, such as spinning their legs fast enough to run through midair and generating enough friction to ignite fire in their wake. They can even spin like a top with enough force to turn into a burrowing drill.

In his Mythical Zoan form, Luffy’s body gains an unprecedented level of flexibility and malleability, with Kaidou describing it as resembling something from a picture book. Even Haki attacks seem to have little effect on him in this state. Luffy can inflate his limbs and muscles without needing to pump air into his body, granting him immense strength, as demonstrated when he effortlessly lifted Kaidou’s transformed body. He can also manipulate his surroundings to be like rubber, bouncing off surfaces and even making them elastic. Interestingly, Luffy can even affect intangible matter such as lightning with this power. Additionally, Gear 5 allows Luffy to materialize objects from his flaming hair, such as goggles.
