Following Majin Buu’s defeat but before the final chapters focusing on the 28th World Martial Arts Tournament, the Goku and his adventures plot is picked up in the Dragon Ball Super manga. When compared to the two most recent Dragon Ball Z films and the Dragon Ball Super anime, it contains several different storylines while being an adaptation of Toriyama’s blueprint.
Production
Plot summaries written by Akira Toriyama serve as the foundation for the narrative used by Toyotar, and Toriyama himself assists with the production of the manga. As he sees fit, Toyotar expands, adds, and modifies components of Toriyama’s idea to produce the speech and images. Akira Toriyama also reviews all of Toyotar’s storyboards for the manga, and makes modifications to ensure that everything is accurate. Toyotar sends his draft to Toriyama, who looks it over and then sends back portions that he drew himself with corrections to Toyotar in order to get the final product perfect. Toyotar also modifies the plot .
Victory Uchida had already begun working on the plot with Toriyama and Toyotarou by the time of the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga. Toyotarou’s storyboards had advanced to be more detailed as a result of Toriyama checking them more than before, with the two narrowing down story ideas. Toriyama and Toyotarou are good writers who get along well, with their ideas never clashing and the two typically agreeing on ideas during meetings, though Toriyama has the majority of input.
