Jujustsu Kaisen
Yuji Itadori is a track and field superstar. But he has no interest in going in circles; he’s quite content in the Occult Research Club. Despite the fact that he’s merely in the club for fun, things take a turn for the worst when a true spirit shows up at school!
Yuji makes a pledge to his grandfather on his deathbed that he will do good things so that, unlike his grandfather, he will die surrounded by loved ones.
Yuji’s life, however, is turned upside down when he meets Megumi Fushiguro, a jujutsu sorceress attempting to recover a cursed relic. Things go wrong when Yuji’s pals open the cursed relic they discovered, as the cursed spirits it generated start roaming the school. Yuji swallows the cursed object and receives its strength as Fushiguro and Yuji are about to be vanquished by one of the spirits. Yuji is cursed by the object as a result, and is lured into Fushiguro’s fascinating world of jujutsu sorcerers and cursed spirits.
On November 25th, 2019, the 52nd issue of Weekly Shnen Jump published an announcement about the Jujutsu Kaisen anime adaptation. On December 22, 2019, manga artist Gege Akutami and the main cast members appeared at Jump Festa 2020. The series will be produced by Toho, it has been revealed.
The first official trailer for the anime was published on May 20, 2020. Scenes from the manga’s opening few chapters were adapted for the preview. It also announced the animation studio that will be adapting the material, as well as the anime series’ debut date: October 2020.
