Vinland saga season 2 trailer
Vinland Saga’s second season is almost approaching. Twin Engine, the anime production company, has finally offered a new look at the next phase of Thorfinn’s quest, which is expected to debut in January 2023, following the announcement and teaser trailer aired last summer.
The first season of Vinland Saga features Thorfinn, a young Viking warrior who joins a gang of mercenaries to seek vengeance for his father’s death at the hands of Askeladd, the mercenaries’ commander. When we last saw Thorfinn, he was faced with the prospect of a life beyond his quest for vengeance, as well as the implications of a catastrophic decision taken in a split second.
There are flashbacks of Thorfinn’s time as a mercenary under Askeladd’s command, scenes of Leif Erikson and Thorfinn’s great uncle Thorkell interacting with new people, and shots of King Canute standing atop a pile of treasure and running his fingers across the scar he acquired during the first season’s climax.
The real-life accounts of major Viking historical figures such as King Canute the Great, Thorfinn himself, and Leif Erikson are commonly mixed with more dramatic fictitious aspects in the Vinland Saga.
Shhei Yabuta, who directed the first season of Vinland Saga, tweeted earlier this week that the same animators who worked on the first season would return for the second. Like the first season, the series will be available on Amazon in the United States.
