Zoro, also known as “Pirate Hunter” Zoro, is a member of the Straw Hat Pirates and their second member to join. He is a skilled swordsman and one of the three most powerful combatants in the crew, alongside Luffy and Sanji. Zoro’s dream is to become the greatest swordsman in the world, in honor of his childhood friend Kuina. He is also included among the ranks of the “Worst Generation” of pirates, along with his captain and Marshall D. Teach. Zoro’s bounty has increased over time, with his most recent being 1,111,000,000 after the Raid on Onigashima. He is a matrilineal descendant of both the Shimotsuki Family of Wano Country and the legendary samurai Shimotsuki Ryuma.

Zoro is a man with an average height and a muscular build. His skin has a light tan and he always carries his three swords with him, wrapped in a green haramaki over his right hip for easy access with his left hand. One of his swords, the Wado Ichimonji, is always seen on his person while the other two have been replaced over time due to damage. Zoro has three identical gold earrings on his left earlobe and often wears a black bandana around his left bicep, tying it around his head during serious fights. His body is covered in scars from battles, including a large scar from his defeat against Dracule Mihawk at Baratie that stretches from his left shoulder to his right hip. Zoro also has scars on his ankles from attempting to free himself from Mr. 3’s Tokudai Candle Service Set by cutting off his own feet at Little Garden. After the timeskip, Zoro gained another scar above his left eye but it’s unclear how he got it. Finally, Zoro’s most notable physical feature is his cropped green hair, which Sanji often teases him about by calling him “marimo” due to its resemblance to a moss-ball.
